Crews
What Is a Crew?
A crew is a crew lead plus any number of members who work together. Jobs are assigned to a crew, not to individual workers, and routes are built per crew, per day. Each crew is named after its lead’s first name – for example, “Maria’s Crew.”
Every company starts with one crew: the owner’s own one-person crew, created at signup, so jobs can be assigned and worked before anyone is invited.
Only Owners and Managers can see and manage crews.
Creating a Crew
- Go to Crews in the sidebar.
- Click New crew.
- Choose a Crew Lead. Only active team members with the Crew Lead role are listed, and anyone who already leads a crew can’t be picked.
- Add Members (optional). Only team members with the Crew Member role are listed, and anyone already on another active crew can’t be picked.
- Leave Active turned on.
- Click Save.
Each crew needs its own lead, and each person can lead only one crew. If every crew lead already has a crew, New crew sends you back with a notice: invite another crew lead on the Employees page first (see Team Management). If your plan has no seat left to invite one, the Crews page says so and the button opens the plans page instead (see team members and seats).
In the mobile app, Owners and Managers can add, edit and delete crews from the Crews screen; inviting a crew lead is done on the web.
Assigning a Crew Lead
The crew lead is the one who updates job statuses in the field – on my way, start, pause, finish – and can skip or reschedule a visit. Crew members see the crew’s jobs but can’t change their status. See Team Management for the roles.
To change a crew’s lead, edit the crew and pick a different Crew Lead. The crew’s name changes with it.
Adding and Removing Members
Edit the crew, then search in the Members picker to add workers, or click the × next to a name to remove one. Click Save.
Moving a Member Between Crews
On the Crews list, each crew card shows its members as small tags. Drag a tag from one card and drop it onto another: the worker leaves the old crew and joins the new one in one step.
A crew lead can’t be moved this way. Edit the crew and pick a new lead instead.
Finding and Filtering Crews
On the Crews list, search by crew lead name, or filter with the All statuses, Active and Inactive chips.
Click a crew’s name to open it: you see its lead, members, and its upcoming and recent jobs, with Edit and Delete buttons.
Inactive and Deleted Crews
Turn off Active when editing a crew to take it out of scheduling without deleting it. An inactive crew disappears from the Dashboard, the Schedule, routes and the crew picker on jobs, and its members become free to join another crew.
Delete removes the crew for good. Its jobs are kept but left with no crew, so assign them to another crew.
Crews on the Dashboard
The Dashboard shows one card per active crew with the day’s jobs and route. See Dashboard.
Crews on the Schedule
The Schedule page labels each job with its crew and has a route link for each active crew for the day shown. See Scheduling.
Why Crews Matter for Route Optimization
Jeero builds one route for the whole crew for each day, not a route per worker. See Route Optimization.
