Clients and Properties
Owners and managers manage clients under Clients in the sidebar, and in the Clients tab of the mobile app. Crew members do not have access to the client list.
Creating Clients
Click New client and fill in:
- First name, Last name, Company name – A first name or a company name is required. When both are set, the client is listed under the company name.
- Email – Where invoices and job notifications are sent.
- Phone numbers – Add as many as you need, each labelled mobile, home, work, office or other. Mark one as Primary: it is the number shown in lists and used for text messages.
- Address – The client’s own address. You can reuse it when adding a property.
- Notes – Anything your team should know about the client.
You can also create a client, and a property, from the job form with the New client and New property buttons.
A client that has jobs cannot be deleted.
Notifications
Under Notification preferences, tick SMS, Email, or both. Both are on for a new client.
- Email needs an email address on file.
- SMS needs a phone number on file and the Pro plan or higher (see Billing and Plans). Only enable it if the client agreed to receive texts – Jeero records the date you turn it on.
The client’s page flags a channel that is on but has no email or phone to use. What gets sent is covered in Company Setup.
Billing Settings
- Billing type – Per job (the default) or Monthly. Jobs for a monthly client are not invoiced when they are completed; they go on one invoice a month. See Invoices and Payments.
- Monthly invoice day – For monthly clients, the day the monthly invoice is sent: 1–31 or Last day of month. A day the month lacks falls on its last day.
- Auto-send invoices on job completion – For per-job clients, the invoice is created and emailed as soon as the job is completed. On by default. If the job has expenses waiting for approval, the invoice is sent when the last one is approved.
See Invoices and Payments for more.
Importing Clients from a Spreadsheet
From the clients list, click Import CSV, choose your file and click Import.
- Download Template gives you the expected columns. Jeero imports company name, first name, last name, email, phone and notes; addresses and properties are not imported.
- Each row becomes one client and needs a first name or a company name. The phone is saved as the client’s primary mobile number.
- Rows matching an existing client are skipped, so you can re-run an import. The match is on email, or on company name when the row has no email.
- A file can be up to 2 MB and 5,000 rows.
Afterwards Jeero shows how many clients were imported, how many were skipped, and the errors for any rows that failed.
Service Properties
A property is a location where your crew works. A client can have any number of them.
Adding a Property to a Client
Open the client and click Add property. Enter a name (Name / Label, required), the address, and optional Notes. If the client has an address on file, Use existing client address fills the address fields for you.
The country comes first and opens on your company’s country. As you type the street, Jeero suggests addresses in that country, nearest your company first – pick one to fill in the city, state or region, and postal code. Changing the country clears those three fields.
Jeero locates the address on the map; route optimization uses that position, so accurate addresses give better routes.
Deleting a property keeps its jobs, which are left without a property.
Properties Created from Quote Requests
When you click Convert to Quote on a quote request, Jeero matches the client by email or creates a new one. If the request has an address that client has no property for, Jeero creates the property and names it after the street. See Quotes.
Linking Jobs to Clients and Properties
A job needs a client; the property is optional, and you choose from that client’s properties. If the client has exactly one, it is selected automatically. The client’s page lists their upcoming and recent jobs. See Jobs.
