Move a Whole Day

When to Use It

Move day moves every visit on one day to another day in one step – for a rain day, a holiday, or a crew that’s short-handed. You can move the whole company’s day or one crew’s.

Only owners and managers can move a whole day. Crew leads can still reschedule a single visit from the job page.

Where to Find It

  • The Schedule page – Move day sits next to New job at the top.
  • A crew’s Route page – Move day sits at the top right once a crew is selected. That crew and the date you’re viewing are filled in.

Moving a Day

  1. Click Move day.
  2. Check the Day to move. On the Schedule it starts as today unless you’ve paged to another week; on a Route it’s the date you’re viewing.
  3. Pick the day to Move to. It starts as the day after.
  4. Choose a Crew, or leave All crews.
  5. Tick or untick Include jobs without a crew. It starts ticked from the Schedule and unticked from a crew’s Route.
  6. Click Preview.

Nothing moves until you confirm. One move handles up to 200 visits; for more, move one crew at a time.

Reading the Preview

  • How many visits move, and to which day. If the new day has already passed, a warning says so.
  • Load on the new day – For each crew: Booked, Incoming and Total stops. Rows above 40 stops are highlighted; it’s a warning, not a block.
  • Recurring jobs that follow – A line such as 3 later visits in 1 recurring series will move too.
  • Visits that stay behind, and why – Already completed, Under way, stays put, or already booked on the new day (the job keeps the visit it has there). Cancelled and skipped visits aren’t touched.

Open Show the visits for the full list with each job’s client and crew. To change anything, adjust the form and click Preview again.

Confirming

Click Move N visits. Everything moves together; if anything fails, nothing moves.

You land on the new day, on the Schedule or the crew’s Route, wherever you started.

Note: Only the visits you saw in the preview move. A job added to that day after your preview stays where it is.

What Happens to Routes

Moved stops keep their order and go after whatever the crew already had on the new day.

A built route moved to an empty day stays built. This applies when all of a crew’s stops move, the route was built and up to date, the crew has nothing else on the new day, and the new day has no different start or end address set. Order, drive times and map come across; only the times of day are worked out again, and a locked start time keeps its time on the new date. No route build is used.

Otherwise the new day’s route is marked Stale, and so is the old day’s if it was built. Rebuild when you’re ready – builds count against your plan’s daily limit, so Jeero doesn’t rebuild for you. See Route Optimization.

A day left with no stops for a crew shows no route at all.

Who Gets Told

  • Customers – One message per moved visit with the new date, by email and/or text according to the client’s notification channels. Nothing is sent if you’ve turned off the Job Rescheduled notification (see Client Notifications), and texts need a plan that includes SMS.
  • Crews – Each member of a crew whose day changed gets one Day moved notification with the number of stops and both dates, not one per stop.

Later visits of a recurring job that follow the move send no messages. Their customers still get the usual appointment reminder.

Recurring Jobs

When a moved visit belongs to a recurring job, the later visits of that series can follow it:

  • Weekly and every-other-week – A move of up to three days leaves the series alone. Four days or more shifts later visits by whole weeks.
  • Monthly – Later visits follow only when the day moves more than a week.
  • Daily series, jobs that repeat on several weekdays, and series set to Keep the usual day never follow.

Only later visits that are still scheduled move. See When a Recurring Visit Moves for the full rules.

Keeping Track

Each moved job’s Status history gets a Rescheduled entry with the old date, the new date, when, and who moved it.

From the Mobile App

Owners and managers get the same flow in the mobile app: tap Move day on the Schedule tab or the Route screen, then Preview and confirm. There, the unassigned-jobs switch only appears once you pick a crew; with all crews, unassigned jobs always move. After confirming you return to the screen you came from.
