Clients and Properties
Creating Clients
A client is the person or business you are doing work for. To add a new client, click New Client and fill in:
- First and last name – The person you deal with. For a residential client, this is usually all you need.
- Company name – The business name (e.g., “Acme Landscaping”). You can fill in a person’s name, a company name, or both – but every client needs at least one of them.
- Email – Used for sending invoices and job notifications.
- Phone numbers – Add as many as you need, each with a label (mobile, home, work, and so on). Mark one as the primary number used for scheduling and day-of communication.
- Address – The client’s main address. This is handy as a starting point when you add their service properties later (see below).
- Notes – Anything your team should know about the client.
You can also create a client on the fly while creating a new job – no need to navigate away.
Notifications
Choose how each client hears from Jeero using the notification channels:
- Email – Always available.
- SMS – Text-message notifications, available on plans that include SMS. If SMS is not part of your current plan, you’ll see a prompt to upgrade.
A client only receives SMS messages if SMS is enabled and they have a phone number on file, and only receives email if email is enabled and they have an email address on file.
Billing Settings
Each client also has billing settings that control how invoicing works:
- Billing type – Choose between “Per job” (an invoice for each completed job) or “Monthly” (all completed jobs rolled into one invoice per month).
- Monthly invoice day – For monthly-billed clients, set the day of the month when Jeero generates the consolidated invoice. You can pick a specific day (1–31) or choose Last day of the month.
- Auto-send invoices – When enabled, invoices are automatically emailed to the client.
Tip: Keep client email addresses up to date so invoices and appointment reminders are delivered to the right place.
Importing Clients from a Spreadsheet
If you’re moving to Jeero from another system, you can bring your clients over in bulk instead of adding them one by one. From the clients list, click Import and upload a CSV file.
- Download the template to see the exact columns Jeero expects: company name, first name, last name, email, phone, and notes.
- Each row becomes one client. A phone number in the file is added as the client’s primary number.
- Jeero skips rows that look like duplicates of clients you already have, matching on email address (or on company name when there’s no email), so you can safely re-run an import without creating copies.
After the upload, Jeero shows how many clients were imported and how many were skipped, along with any rows that had problems.
Service Properties
A property is a physical location where your crew performs work. Each client can have one or more properties. For example, a property management company might have ten buildings you service, while a residential client typically has just their home address.
When adding a property, give it a name (such as “Main Office” or “Warehouse”) and enter the full street address. As you type the street, Jeero suggests matching addresses – pick one to fill in the city, state, and ZIP automatically. Jeero then locates the address on the map so it can be used for scheduling and route optimization.
Why Properties Matter
Properties are central to how Jeero plans your crews’ days:
- Job address – Every job is tied to a property. The property address tells your crew exactly where to go and shows up on their mobile app with navigation directions.
- Route planning – Route optimization uses property addresses to calculate the most efficient driving order. Accurate addresses mean better routes and less wasted time on the road.
- Job history – All jobs at a property are linked together, so you can quickly see the full service history for any location. This is useful when diagnosing recurring issues or preparing for a return visit.
Adding a Property to a Client
Open a client’s profile and click Add Property. Give the property a name, enter its address, and optionally add notes for anything your crew should know about the location. The property is immediately available when creating or editing jobs for that client.
If the client already has addresses on file, you’ll see a Use client address dropdown listing the client’s own addresses. Pick one to instantly fill in the property’s address fields, then adjust as needed. This saves time when a property’s address is the same as, or close to, an address already on the client’s record.
Properties Created from Quote Requests
When a customer submits a request through your online quote request form, Jeero automatically sets up the matching client and property for you. If the address in the request doesn’t already exist for that client, Jeero creates a new property for it, so the request is ready to schedule without any extra data entry.
Linking Jobs to Clients and Properties
When you create a job, you select both a client and one of their properties. This links the job to the right person and the right location. If the client only has one property, it is selected automatically.
Tip: For clients with multiple locations, use clear property labels so dispatchers pick the correct address when scheduling jobs.
