How Time Tracking Works

Jeero tracks time when team members clock in and out. There is nothing extra to install – a team member taps Clock In at the start of the day and Clock Out when finished. Each clock event is recorded with a precise timestamp, giving you a reliable record of hours worked.

Anyone who does field work can clock in – not just crew. Because owners and managers can run jobs alongside the crew, they can clock in and out too, and their hours appear on the timesheet right next to everyone else’s.

Time entries are organized by team member and by day, so you can quickly see how many hours each person logged on any given date.

Note: Clocking in and out is always a separate, deliberate action. It is not linked to a worker’s jobs – starting or finishing a job never clocks someone in or out, and clocking in or out never changes a job’s status. A team member must tap the clock buttons to start and stop their time.

Clocking In and Out

Team members start their day by tapping Clock In on their dashboard. While clocked in, a live timer shows how long they have been on the clock, along with the time they clocked in. When the workday is over, they tap Clock Out.

A team member can clock in and out more than once in a day – for example, if they leave and come back. Each shift is recorded separately, and the day’s total adds them all together.

Tip: Encourage everyone to clock in before driving to their first job so travel time is captured in their hours.

Break Tracking

Team members can record breaks within a shift. While clocked in, they tap Start Break when they step away and End Break when they return. A team member must be clocked in to start a break, and only one break can be running at a time.

Break time is tracked separately from shift time. On the timesheet, a person’s net work is their total shift time with break time subtracted, so you can see productive hours at a glance. Multiple breaks can be recorded throughout the day, each listed with its own start and end time.

If a crew member clocks out while still on a break, Jeero automatically ends the open break at the same moment so nothing is left running.

Missed Clock-Outs

If a crew member forgets to clock out or end a break, Jeero does not leave that entry open forever. Open shifts, breaks, and any open job time from previous days are closed automatically – both overnight and the next time the worker opens their dashboard. Automatically closed entries are marked as such, so you can tell them apart from entries the worker ended themselves and follow up if needed.

Tip: Review timesheets regularly to catch any missed clock-outs before they affect payroll.

Owner and Manager View

Owners and managers see a company-wide weekly timesheet. The main view lays out every team member in a grid with a column for each day of the week, a per-person weekly total, and a company-wide grand total. Use the week arrows to move between weeks, and search by name to jump to a specific person.

Selecting a team member opens their day-by-day detail, with summary cards for total shift, total break, and net work, plus a breakdown of each shift and break with start time, end time, and duration. If any job or travel time was recorded for that person on that day, it appears here too, linked to the related job. Use the date arrows to review any day.

Employee View

Crew members see their own clock activity for the current day on their dashboard: whether they are clocked in or on a break, a live timer, their total hours so far, and a list of the day’s shifts and breaks. This keeps each worker aware of their own time as they go and helps them flag anything that looks off.
